County Road S versus County Road South

I understand it might be out of your jurisdiction, so to speak, and belongs to Google, but...

Not sure whether any other state uses a system like that, but the neighboring Wisconsin has a lot of roads with letter names. Some of those names are N, or E, or S, or even W, but those are not the same as North, East, South and West. Is there a way to prevent a cue to be voiced as "County Road S" instead of "County Road South"? Would taking the letter in quotation marks help?

Thank you!
